Position Overview
The Sponsor requires a Security Engineer to support the secure design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of program systems used for mission-critical training. This role supports the technologies, infrastructure, systems, networks, and security processes that enable reliable training operations.
The Security Engineer will help protect Sponsor data, ensure security best practices are followed, support Assessment and Authorization requirements, and maintain system security, uptime, and stability.
Key Responsibilities
The Security Engineer will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the secure design and implementation of program systems.
- Protecting systems against unauthorized access, usage denial, theft, and insider threats.
- Supporting secure operations, maintenance, upgrades, and development of training-support technologies.
- Installing, patching, and updating software to maintain system capabilities and stability.
- Supporting Sponsor Assessment and Authorization accreditation requirements.
- Managing information system security, policy, accreditation, and regulatory compliance.
- Integrating information assurance requirements into acquisition and implementation processes.
- Supporting hardware, software, network, and system operations for mission-critical training environments.
- Working with the Government Task Manager and Sponsor stakeholders to manage priorities and tasking.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
- Managing cloud infrastructure.
- Supporting system Assessment and Authorization processes.
- Handling sensitive data with discretion, sound judgment, and a mission-focused approach.
- Using encryption hardware and software.
- Using virtual private network applications.
- Executing regulatory and data retention policies.
- Modifying policies with input and direction from key stakeholders.
- Managing telephones, laptops, and tablet devices requiring configuration, maintenance, and uptime support.
- Supporting communications reliability across multiple devices and platforms.
- Using communication tools, including push-to-talk technology.
- Using map imagery applications.
- Using Microsoft cloud-based tools, including Office 365, Azure, Entra, and Teams.
Desired Qualifications
The ideal candidate may also have:
- Experience administering complex Sponsor unclassified systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of Sponsor personnel.
- Experience with Sponsor Assessment and Authorization processes.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting proprietary Sponsor map imagery applications.
