Position Summary
We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to support the secure design, implementation, and maintenance of mission-critical training systems. The selected candidate will help protect program systems, data, and infrastructure while ensuring compliance with security, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
Job Description
The Cyber Security Engineer will support a mission-critical training environment by helping manage the suite of technologies that enable course delivery and operational continuity. This includes hardware, software, networks, cloud infrastructure, communications tools, and supporting systems.
The Security Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that program systems are securely designed, implemented, maintained, and updated to protect against unauthorized access, service disruption, data loss, theft, and insider threats. The candidate will help maximize system security, protect sensitive Sponsor data, and ensure security best practices are followed.
Responsibilities include installing, patching, and updating software; monitoring and maintaining system capabilities; supporting uptime and stability; and contributing to Assessment & Authorization accreditation activities. The Security Engineer will also support information system security, policy management, regulatory compliance, and the integration of information assurance requirements into acquisition and implementation processes.
Priorities and tasking will be managed by the Government Task Manager with input from the Sponsor.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
- Managing cloud infrastructure.
- Supporting system Assessment & Authorization processes.
- Handling sensitive data with discretion, sound judgment, and a mission-focused mindset.
- Using encryption hardware and software, as well as VPN applications.
- Applying regulatory and data-retention policies, including modifying policies with stakeholder input and direction.
- Managing telephones, laptops, and tablet devices, including configuration, maintenance, uptime, and communications reliability.
- Using communication tools, including push-to-talk technology.
- Using map imagery applications.
- Using Microsoft cloud-based tools, including Office 365, Azure, Microsoft Entra, and Teams.
Desired Qualifications
Preferred candidates will also have:
- Experience administering complex Sponsor unclassified systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of Sponsor personnel.
- Experience with Sponsor Assessment & Authorization processes.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting proprietary Sponsor map imagery applications.
Clearance Requirement
This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. Candidates who do not currently possess the required clearance will not be considered.
